Betrayal
I celebrated my birthday this month with a carrot cake cupcake, one of the few things that can pull me away from chocolate. I know there are a few places that sell chocolate carrot cake, but an occasional break from chocolate is OK. In fact, I often forget how much I like vanilla, cinnamon, lemon and almond-flavored desserts, because I'm so focused on chocolate. When I do stray from my obsession and sample something else, it's rather refreshing.

Holiday Chocolate pt. 1
I went through the 2014 calendar and picked one chocolate recipe associated with a holiday occurring in that month. Below are the results for the first half of the year, and I will create a second post for the rest of the year. Of course, any of these recipes can be made at any time, and I realize that I'm a bit late with the January suggestion.
